Hello! My name is Ali Cordie and I am excited to be the new Natural Resources Educator at Crex Meadows.

I have been in the field of education, primarily environmental education, for several years. My environmental education career began in 2005 after graduating from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, MN with a degree in geology and environmental studies. I have had the opportunity to work at a variety of positions in my home state of Minnesota, Montana, and Wisconsin. My working travels along the North Shore of Lake Superior as an Interpretive Naturalist for the U.S. Forest Service, and I most recently was a Park Interpreter for Voyageurs National Park in International Falls, MN. Between these two positions I have been a naturalist in Montana for a ranch in Big Sky, a camp director at the Central Wisconsin Environmental Station, and a special needs aide at schools in St. Paul and Grand Marais, MN.

Last May I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point with a Masters of Science degree in natural resources emphasizing environmental education and interpretation.

Although I’ve been in Grantsburg for only a short time, everything I have seen and learned about Crex Meadows and the surrounding area has been incredibly beautiful and interesting. I look forward to learning more and teaching about the natural resources and cultural history of Crex Meadows.
