The SPRING BIRDING FESTIVAL took place on Saturday, May 10th, and Sunday May 11, 2008.  Rain set the mood for most of the weekend.  The highlight of the Saturday evening tour was a black bear up in an Aspen tree.  We had a total of 86 species (Down from previous years) of birds reported.  Look below for a complete list. Bruce Bacon was on hand most of the day Sunday banding birds and we were treated to close up views of many birds such as Robin, and sedge wren.  An interesting and informative program was given about Wisconsin raptors   by Chris Cold, and Dale Bohlke and John LaMere delighted us with their photos of birds taken in Crex Meadows.  Thank You to all who participated, especially the volunteers and staff.  Without your hard work, this event could not have been possible.
