The First annual Crex Meadows Nature Photography Contest was a smashing success, with 64 entries into the main contest and 7 youth entries.  We will definitely be doing this again next year - so get out there and get those money shots!

Judging was open to public ballot.  Three points were given for a first place vote, two for second, and one for third.  All points were tallied after voting closed at 6 p.m.

The prizes were awarded in each category as follows:

• First Place wins a $10 gift certificate to the Bog Shoe gift shop and the winning photo will be mounted on a plaque under glass.

• Second place wins a $10 gift certificate to the Bog Shoe gift shop.

• Third place wins a $5 gift certificate to the Bog Shoe gift shop.

• The winner in each youth category wins a $5 gift certificate to the Bog Shoe gift shop.

• Best in Show was awarded a $25 gift certificate to the Bog Shoe gift shop.

Best in Show  was awarded to Kathy Java, who had the highest number points for her wildflower entry Where's the Birdfoot?
