2013 Crex Nature Photography Contest Rules and Submission Guidelines

Announcing the 6th Annual Crex Meadows Nature Photography Contest.  Each year we invite photographers to submit their photos taken at Crex Meadows, Fish Lake, Amsterdam Sloughs and Danbury Wildlife Areas to our photo contest.  Sumbissions are displayed at the Crex Meadows Wildlife Education and Visitor Center fromlate July into early August where the public is invited to vote for their favorite photos in seven different categories.  Click on the link above for submission guidelines. 

Are you interested in nature photography?  Do you spend time at Crex Meadows taking photos and want to share them?  Do you want to learn more about digital photography and get to know other people who share a love of the natural world and a desire to improve their skills?  Join the Crex Photo Club! 

Meets: Second Saturday of each month, unless otherwise noted.  Please check schedule below and check back ocassionally for changes. 

Time: 10:00 a.m. - Noon Location: Crex Meadows Wildlife Education and Visitor's Center

NEXT MEETING IS MAY 11 at the Crex Meadows Wildlife Eduation and Visitor Center auditorium.  Send in your spring photos!

2013 Dates: Jan 18-20 (Field Trip to Sax-Zim Bog), February 9 (cancelled), March 9, April 20, May 11, June 08, July 13, August 10, September 14, October 12, November 9, and December 14.

Purpose:

• To share images taken at Crex and the surrounding area with fellow photographers.
 • To learn new techniques
• To share good photo locations on Crex

Membership:
Open to all, membership in Friends of Crex encouraged
Membership fee: none

Image sharing:

• 3-5 images per photographer each month
• Image files emailed in advance to show on projector during meeting
• Images should be received by the second Friday of the month to be viewed the following day

File details:

o JPEG Only
o Max size: 1280 on longest dimension
o High quality setting for JPEG compression
o Please label your photos as follows:  Photo #, Month, Initials (0107KJW, 0207KJW, 0307KJW for photo submitted for July meeting)
